I have always wanted a quick and easy solution for making screen recordings to create quick instructional videos for my teachers. I’ve tried some freeware here and there, but I have never been too happy with the results. I’m kind of a miser when it comes to this kind of stuff too, so I’ve never paid for one either. My Twitter feed just showed me this yesterday… Did you know that the FREE QuickTime Player now has screen recording?! I’m not sure in which version it started, but I just tried it on version 10 on my MacBook, and indeed it works – even allows you to record sound! I’m going to check out the Windows version too and will write more here in the comments when I’ve had more experience with both.

Sweet!!! I did not know of this one. I, like you, use some sort of screen capture often – for those training videos. Thanks! I will have to play with it, to see if I can capture just part of the screen. BUT IT’S FREE!!
